Additionally, we will discuss strategies to enhance collaboration among these services to improve client outcomes at ShisaCare Clinic.

Course Description: This course will discuss the feeding research conducted by Rachel, Hazel, and Heather at ShisaCare Clinic. Recognizing the link between anxiety and eating aversion has presented significant challenges for parents, caregivers, and healthcare professionals, potentially leading to limitations in dietary choices and nutritional deficiencies. To address these challenges, ShisaCare’s feeding program has employed various practices aimed at reducing anxiety during trials, including but not limited to: Flexibility in treatment settings (virtual and/or in-person). Family involvement (presence at all sessions). Client engagement (food preparation). Use of the Yum Score Rating Sheet.

Course Description:This course will help individuals identify the services available in Japan through military installations. It will cover the services available on base and provide information on where families can go to obtain these services.

Objectives: By the end of this course, participants will be able to: 1. Describe three facilities that offer services for military families on base. 2. Explain the differences between services available on base and those available off base. 3. Identify two ways providers from different facilities can collaborate effectively. 

About the Presenter: Paloma Travers has over 15 years of experience as a special education educator and is currently a school administrator. She holds a master’s degree in special education as well as a master’s in educational leadership.
