We understand that life happens! If you need to cancel a session, please let us know as early as possible. Cancellation fees are based on the length of your scheduled session and help us honor our clinicians' time.
$0 – No fee for cancellations made more than 3 hours before your session
$20 – For cancellations made less than 3 hours before a 30-minute session
$30 – For cancellations made less than 3 hours before a 60-minute or longer session
Please note that insurance does not cover cancellation fees.
Some of our clinicians, including military spouses or SOFA status contractors, may have slightly different cancellation policies. If so, they will let you know directly. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to your therapist or contact us anytime!
We’re committed to supporting your progress, and consistent attendance plays a big role in that success. It’s also something insurance providers often require. We kindly ask that you attend all scheduled sessions unless it's absolutely necessary to miss.
If attendance drops below 80%, we may need to adjust your regular session slot to ensure we can meet the needs of all our clients.
We completely understand that life happens—whether it’s a planned trip or an unexpected illness. Please give as much notice as you can, and when in doubt, feel free to reach out early so we can plan accordingly.
If a session is missed without enough notice and can’t be rescheduled within the same week, a no-show fee may apply.
You can find details in the Cancellation Policy above.
At ShisaCare, we serve clients of all ages and health backgrounds—including individuals with compromised immune systems. To help keep everyone safe and healthy, we kindly ask that you cancel, reschedule, or switch to an online session if you or your child is experiencing any of the following:
Fever (100°F / 37.8°C or higher within the past 24 hours)
Vomiting or diarrhea
Unexplained rash
Frequent or persistent cough
Green or yellow discharge from the eyes, ears, or nose
Head lice
Any diagnosed or suspected contagious illness (e.g., flu, pink eye, hand-foot-and-mouth disease, chickenpox, strep throat, bronchitis, or ringworm) — until cleared by a physician
If any of these symptoms are observed during a session and there is no documentation of medical clearance, we may need to end the session early. In some cases, a doctor’s note may be required before returning.
Thank you for helping us protect the well-being of all our clients and staff!
At ShisaCare, safety is our top priority. Our office will remain open for in-person appointments unless we are in TCCOR 1 – Caution, Emergency, or Recovery. However, we may choose to cancel in-person sessions at our discretion for everyone’s safety.
*If you agree to an online session and do not notify the clinician in advance of cancelling, a no-show fee may still apply.
